Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 31, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how CreatorGap AI (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects information when you use our website, dashboard and Chrome Extension (together, the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as your name and email address when you create an account, and the channel or profile handles you search or compare within the Service.

We also collect limited usage information automatically, including pages visited, features used, and general device and browser information, to help us understand how the Service is used and to keep it reliable.

The Chrome Extension reads publicly available page data (such as channel names, view counts and engagement metrics visible on YouTube and Instagram pages you visit) in order to generate comparisons and reports. It does not read your private messages, passwords, or account credentials on those platforms.

Separately, if you use Pre-Video Analysis on the dashboard, we also process the video you upload and related data — see Section 3 (Video & Audio Data) below.

2. Google Account Information & OAuth

CreatorGap AI uses “Sign in with Google” as the login method for the web dashboard. When you sign in with Google, we request only the following non-sensitive OAuth scopes: openid, email and profile. This gives us your Google account ID, name, email address and profile picture — nothing more.

We use this information solely to create your CreatorGap AI account, authenticate you on future visits, and personalize your dashboard (for example, displaying your name and avatar). We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell, rent or share it with third parties.

We do not request or access: your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Calendar, Contacts, Google Photos, or your YouTube channel and account settings. Signing in with Google does not grant CreatorGap AI any ability to read your email, view your files, or upload, edit, delete or manage content on your behalf on any Google or YouTube property.

The Chrome Extension's YouTube and Instagram analysis features are separate from Google Sign-In and do not use your Google OAuth token: the extension reads publicly visible page data in your browser and, for YouTube, calls the public YouTube Data API v3 using an API key (not your personal account credentials).

CreatorGap AI's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. Video & Audio Data (Pre-Video Analysis)

When you use Pre-Video Analysis, we process the video file you upload — including its video frames, audio track, and any speech, transcript, or captions/subtitles derived from it — along with related metadata such as file name, format, duration, and resolution. We also process the output the Service generates from that video, including scores, identified issues, recommendations, and suggested titles, hashtags, and captions.

This is separate from, and in addition to, the public page data the Chrome Extension reads (described in Section 1).

4. User-Provided Video Context

Pre-Video Analysis includes one optional field, “Tell us about your video,” where you can describe your video's goal, target audience, or anything else you'd like the AI to know. If you fill it in, this text is processed together with your uploaded video to make the analysis more relevant to your video. Leaving it blank does not affect your ability to use the feature.

5. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate and maintain the Service, including generating comparisons, gap reports and trending feeds.
  • Perform Pre-Video Analysis — generating scores, identifying issues, and producing recommendations, suggested titles, hashtags, and captions for videos you upload.
  • Save your search history, bookmarks, saved topics and Pre-Video Analysis history so you can return to them later, where these features are supported.
  • Communicate with you about your account, product updates, or in response to a message you send us.
  • Monitor and improve the performance, security and reliability of the Service, and detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

[Pending confirmation: whether uploaded videos, audio, or transcripts are ever used to train or improve AI models beyond generating your own Pre-Video Analysis has not yet been verified — we do not claim this happens, and will update this section once confirmed.]

6. AI & Third-Party Processing

To generate your Pre-Video Analysis, your video, audio, and any derived transcript may be processed by third-party providers we use for AI/machine-learning inference, speech-to-text, video processing, and cloud infrastructure hosting.

[Pending confirmation: specific third-party providers actually used for Pre-Video Analysis processing are not named here because they have not yet been verified against the live backend. We will only name providers here once their actual use has been confirmed.]

Any provider we use processes your content solely to help deliver the Service to you, under its own applicable terms.

7. Video Retention & Deletion

[Pending confirmation: how long uploaded video files are retained on our servers/storage after Pre-Video Analysis completes, and whether/when the original video file is deleted, has not yet been verified against actual backend behavior. We have not published an invented retention period (such as 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days) — this section will be completed with the actual, verified process once confirmed.]

Your analysis results (as opposed to the original video file) are retained as described in Section 8 (Analysis Data).

8. Analysis Data

We retain the results of your Pre-Video Analysis — including scores, recommendations, identified issues, suggested titles, hashtags, captions, and related metadata — in your account so you can view them again later via Analysis History, for as long as your account remains active or until you delete that analysis, whichever comes first (where analysis deletion is supported).

Separately, for your convenience, a short summary of your recent analyses (file name, date, and score) may also be cached in your browser's local storage on the device you used. This local cache is not synced to your account, is not accessible to us, and clears if you clear that browser's site data.

9. Data Retention

We retain account information and saved data (such as search history, bookmarks and reports) for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal or security purposes.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies and similar local storage technologies to keep you signed in, remember your theme preference, and understand aggregate usage of the website. We do not use cookies to sell your data to third parties.

11. Third-Party Services

The Chrome Extension and dashboard reference publicly available data from YouTube and Instagram to power comparisons and trend detection. Your use of those platforms remains subject to their own respective privacy policies and terms of service. We do not control, and are not responsible for, how those third parties handle your data on their platforms.

12. Payment Information

Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor (currently Stripe or Razorpay, depending on which is enabled for your account or region) through their own secure, hosted checkout. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or other complete payment card details on our servers — that information is handled directly by the payment processor under its own privacy policy. We retain limited payment-related records, such as the amount, currency, plan, status, and the payment processor's transaction/order reference, so we can show you your payment history and manage your subscription.

13. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect uploaded videos, audio, transcripts, analysis results, and account information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of any information you provide.

14. Data Deletion

What happens when you delete something depends on what you delete:

  • Deleting a single Pre-Video Analysis (where supported) removes its results from your Analysis History. [Pending confirmation: whether the associated video file is also deleted at that point — see Section 7.]
  • Canceling your subscription stops future billing and, depending on your plan, may reduce your future access to certain features, but does not by itself delete your account, your saved analyses, or your other saved data.
  • Deleting your account removes your personal account data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain information (such as billing or legal records) for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or security purposes, in which case we retain only what is necessary for those purposes and for no longer than required.

We do not promise instant, simultaneous deletion across every system where retention is legally or operationally required, but we work to complete deletion requests within a reasonable period.

15. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Depending on what the Service currently supports, this can include requesting deletion of a specific uploaded video or Pre-Video Analysis, deletion of your analysis history, and deletion of your account. You can exercise most of these rights directly from your account settings where the corresponding controls are available, or by contacting us at the email address below.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or applicable law. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.

17. Contact
